In short
  • Design a post once and every post you publish looks that way.
  • The blog listing is its own template, laid out in Elementor.
  • Duplicate before you experiment, then Make default when ready.
  • The post template needs one published post before it opens.

The two templates

You write the post and the theme renders it inside a template, the title area, the featured image, the date and author, what appears under the article. Design it once and every post you publish uses it.

Blog Archive Template is the listing that shows your posts as cards. Single Post Template is one article open on its own. Both sit in MyHome IDX in the WordPress menu, then Advanced, each on its own tab.

Editing one

Edit opens the template in Elementor. Preview opens it on the front end against real content. Duplicate copies it, so you can build the copy, preview it, and click Make default to switch the site over. The Default badge tells you which one is live.

Publish a post before editing the post template
A single post template has nothing to render on a blog with no posts, so the Edit button stays out of reach. Write one post and the template opens normally. A demo import creates posts for you, so this only comes up on a site started from scratch.

Adding another

Add a template at the bottom of either tab takes a name and opens the new template in Elementor on a blank canvas.

Colors, fonts and buttons come from Elementor's Site Settings, and the header and footer around a post come from your layout.
