IDX Pages Missing Your Header and Footer

IDX pages showing up without your header and footer, or with the wrong ones? The Dynamic URL field in IDX Broker decides the frame, and this is where to fix it.

In short
  • IDX pages take their header and footer from the wrapper.
  • An empty Dynamic URL means no frame at all.
  • A wrapper pointing at an old page means the wrong frame.
  • One field in IDX Broker fixes both cases.

What is happening

Search results, single listings and the lead tools are generated by IDX Broker as standalone pages. The frame around them, your header and footer, comes from the dynamic wrapper, a page on your site that IDX Broker reads. When those pages show up bare or with someone else's frame, the wrapper is either not set or pointing somewhere it should not.

Check the wrapper in IDX Broker

Log in to IDX Broker and go to Design then Website then Wrappers, open the Global tab and look at the Dynamic URL field. Two things can be wrong there. The field is empty, so no wrapper is applied and the IDX pages stand alone. Or the field points at a page that no longer matches your site, an old wrapper page, a previous website, a page that was redesigned, so the IDX pages carry an outdated header and footer.

Set or fix it

The wrapper page itself is two small tags on a page of your site, and IDX Pages and the Dynamic Wrapper on Any Website explains the whole mechanism. For the exact clicks, the Elementor and Gutenberg guides cover WordPress, and Webflow has its own walkthrough. Once the wrapper page exists, paste its URL into the Dynamic URL field and save.

Using our Complete IDX Website?
Publishing a website from My Website switches the account-wide wrapper to that website automatically. If your IDX pages suddenly carry a different header than you expected, a recent publish is the usual reason, as explained in Publish Your Website on Your Own Domain.

Check the result

Open any IDX page on your account, the search results are the easiest, and refresh it. Your header should sit at the top, your footer at the bottom, and the content between them still follows your IDX Broker templates, which is a separate setting.
