You do not have to decide anything upfront. Create a free IDX Plugin account, paste your IDX Broker API key where Getting Started shows, and a 30-day test starts on your own MLS data. During the test every ready widget runs, the search forms and the listing widgets, and your Global Styles apply to them and to the built-in IDX Broker templates, like Contact, Mortgage Calculator, Home Valuation and My Account. Set your colors and typography and watch those pages change on your own site.
What the assignment adds
Our custom templates for the key pages, search, results and the single listing page, are the part that needs one extra step: assigning IDX Plugin as your developer partner in IDX Broker. Paste your API key
Add your IDX Broker API key in the dashboard, exactly as shown in Getting Started. The moment it is in, the 30-day clock starts and your widgets fill with your own listings.

Open the ready widgets, run a search, set your brand in Global Styles and watch the built-in IDX Broker pages follow. Everything you configure stays if you assign us later, nothing is thrown away.
